Details
This 10-hour adventure race is perfect for sport or family teams looking to have some fun discovering the outdoors with adventure racing. Experience teams will find this race a challenge to get to all the checkpoints in the time allowed. Easy to read and simple navigation will take you to some hidden spots in Oak Mountain, with all the trails being well marked. Distances and time spent on each section are always based on your team's abilities and speed in adventure racing; however, you can expect between 25–35 miles of mountain biking, 8–12 miles of trekking with 3–5 miles of canoeing. this race will be 100% Rogaine format, so teams can choose which discipline to start with and the amount of time they want to spend on each discipline. Even though there are 10 hours to complete the race, teams can go out and have fun for 2 hours on each discipline and make it a 6-hour event. The winners will be determined by the most checkpoints found in the shortest time.
All teammates must be present to check in and receive instructions. The later you are, the shorter the preparation time, so you can get there first. All maps are pre-plotted and waterproof. Your first discipline to start the race will be revealed during check-in.
We supply all canoes, paddles, and PFDs; however, teams may bring their own paddle gear if placed in paddle bags. Water and snacks will be provided at most transition areas; however, they are not guaranteed, so bring water purification tablets.
Race Includes a t-shirt, food and drink during the race, awards for each division, and dinner at the end of the race.
Dinner will be provided by Oak Mountain Creekside BBQ.
